Isn‘t it odd that our sun, the single most influential and essential factor for life on earth, receives almost no credit from today’s major religious movements?
Sun — May 12, 2024 in Living LifeReflecting on everyday life in a few words. From my perspective.
Fun fact monday: Ferrero, the manufacturer of the infamous Nutella hazelnut spread, purchases one-quarter of the global hazelnut harvest each year.
Ferrero — April 22, 2024 in Living LifeRaising a child is hard, especially today. And tomorrow. And probably the day after tomorrow, too.
Parenting — April 14, 2024 in Living LifeOne year ago, we spent three weeks on the Azores. With our then five- and one-year-old kids, the trip was challenging and exhausting—and is one of my fondest and most cherished memories so far.
Azores — April 14, 2024 in Living LifeI don’t need motivational or inspirational posters on my wall.
Instead, I watch our Clematis montana as it stretches toward the sky, climbing the rope inch by inch, all the while sprouting new leaves and nourishing butterflies with its vibrant blooms.
Clematis montana — April 13, 2024 in Living LifeApproximately 4,000 weeks. That’s how long I’ll live (statistically)—make ’em count.
Weeks — March 17, 2024 in Living LifeOnce again, we just had free, fair and secret elections. This can not be emphazied enough.
Elections — March 17, 2024 in Living LifeA few days ago, I had a million-dollar idea. Maybe.
Million-dollar idea — February 24, 2024 in Living LifeSome days, you just try to get from one cappuccino to the next.
Cappuccino — January 13, 2024 in Living LifeIt’s fascinating how people’s attitudes to punctuality differ.
Even with two kids, we are usually plus/minus two minutes ‘on time’. We don’t compromise to achieve this. It’s an essential part of our organization and logistics.
Time is the most valuable thing each one of us has. I try to respect other people’s time.
On time — December 30, 2023 in Living LifeSeven hours. That’s the amount of sleep I need to function… pretty well. It’s way less than how long I would sleep without kids, though.
Add another seven for work, and seven more for family life organization. That’s 21 hours to keep it all running, and leaves up to three hours a day to spend however I want.
That right there. That’s privilege. Prosperity. And when I’m old and wrinkled, I’ll reflect on how I spent those three hours every day.
Three hours — December 14, 2023 in Living LifeWater falling from the sky is great. Seriously. I don’t mind. You do you.
But… what’s the point of doing it for two weeks straight? And why the fuck can’t you stick to your schedule like everybody else!?
Rain — October 29, 2023 in Living LifeBack in my second hometown. Feeling nostalgic.
Living in the old town is something special. You just walk out the door, and everything meaningful is a five-minute stroll away—like locally roasted coffee or homemade pie.
Lübeck — August 24, 2023 in Living LifeTaking some time off with the kids (5 and 1). Planning and logistics are so crucial to make relaxing holidays actually possible. I don’t think childless couples realize that.
A few more years and it will be much easier. Well, at least the logistics part.
Vacation with kids — August 18, 2023 in Living LifeI rely way too much on random peoples cranky opinion.
